Happy New Year! It has been quite awhile since I have updated this site and there is a lot going on musically. I am currently playing on a few CD's that should all be out in 2007...look for these recordings by my friends John Conahan (check out the "songs" page for a few tracks), The Hoppin' John Orchestra, a slew of recordings produced by George and Geoff Hazelrigg, and another CD by a yet-to-be-named artist that I have been dying to play with. There are also some great live shows coming up....I will try to have the dates put on the site sometime this month. I hope all is well with everyone....

It's great to be back! Saturday night I played my first gig in about 6 months after breaking my right ankle and tearing the ligaments around it. It felt great playing! The type of injury I had takes about a year to fully heal, but oddly enough, playing the drums didn't bother me at all.....what really hurt is the before and after, so if anyone wants to help me carry, set up, and break down my drums for the next couple of months, call me! Of course I do not not expect anyone to do it for free, so just reply with your choice of payment....Snickers, Skittles, or Twizzlers.

I have a bunch of gigs coming up and I'll be posting my gig schedule up in the next week or two. I look foward to seeing everyone again!

Hello all,

For those of you that haven't heard, on February 3rd( and a week after moving into a new house!), I broke my ankle and tore some ligaments. I have been in a cast and on crutches since, so needless to say, I had to cancel all my gigs for quite awhile.

Hopefully, sometime in the not-too-distant future, I'll be back on my feet (literally and figuratively), and playing again with the usual suspects(check the links page).

See you soon,
...Darren

I am proud to say I am a new member of the Vic Firth family and got the endorsement earlier this year. Marco Soccoli (Director of Artist Relations at Vic Firth and just a good guy) really hooked me up at the PASIC convention this year too, so for all the drummers reading this, please check out www.vicfirth.com from my links page. Not only the best drumsticks around, but they have so many other great products and an very cool website.

There are a lot of gigs coming up with Christine (see below) and she wants to record a new CD sometime around April. There has been a lot of new material in the live set lately. We had a great show last night downstairs at the World Cafe Live and we should be there again soon. I'll add the date when I get it.

Also, the Hoppin' John Orchestra (on links page) is becoming very active and will be playing when everyone's schedule permits. It is such a fun big band to play with and you rarely, if ever, get to play so many styles of music in one band.
The LINKS page is up now too.

That's all for now. I'll be adding more shows to the list all the time, so stop back for updates and come on out to a show.....Darren
